05.31.2007 Csutortok

Tegnap ejjel a Daniella nem jol aludt, ebren volt 2-tol 4-ig, en igy osszesen kb. 3 orat aludtam. Ma mikor a bolcsibol felszedtem, mondtak, hogy ott sem volt jo kedve, mindig kerte, hogy vegyek fel es nem sokat evett.
Az Alexek mentek uszni. Ma egyiknek sem volt kedve eloszor menni, de amikor ott voltak, mind a ketten elveztek. Meg van kb 2 het az uszasbol, utana nem iratkozunk fel a nyarra, majd csak az osszel.
Az Alexnak ma volt a harmadik napja a felmeresnek az iskolaba, de nem fogjuk megtudni az eredmenyt csak az osszel, szeptemberben.
A Daddy pedig holnap megy atvenni az uj autojat.


Last night Daniella was up from 2 till 4am, so I got about 3 hours of sleep myself. She wasn't feeling well today at daycare either, they said she wanted to be picked up a lot, and didn't eat well. Alex and Niki had swimming lessons today, none of them wanted to go, but when they were there they both had fun. They have 2 more weeks of classes, then we take a break for the summer and will sign them up again in the fall.
Alex had his last day of EQAO test today at school, but we don't get any results until September about it. Daddy can't wait to pick up his new car tomorrow.

05.30.2007 Szerda

Ma az Alexnak volt foci edzese. Szerencsere jo edzoje van, egy no aki maga is focizik. Altalaban a csapatban levo valamelyik gyereknek az egyik szuloje az edzo, es nem mind tud sokat a focirol.
Eloszor fel orat gyakorolnak, utana 1 oras meccs van egy masik csapat ellen. 8-kor lett vege, igy eleg keson ertunk haza.

Today Alex has soccer. Luckily he has a really good coach, she plays soccer herself too. It's usually one of the parents who coaches the team. I'm happy it's someone who knows something about soccer. They do drills for half an hour, then a game for an hour. They finished at 8pm, so it was pretty late by the time we got home.

05.29.2007 Kedd

Az Alexnak ma kezdodott a harom napos felmeroi az iskolaban. 3. osztalyban, 6.-ban es 9.-ben merik fel az osszes gyereknek az olvasast, irast es a matematikat.
Delutan a Daddy megint autot nezett, most vett is egyet, majd penteken kell erte menni.
Az Alex jatszott az Elrich-el, a Niki pedig az Alexa-val delutan.
Vacsora utan pedig elmentunk a jatszoterre, ahol az Emmaval es az Ethannal is jatszottak egy kicsit.

Alex started his EQAO testing in school, they will be doing it for the next three days.
Daddy went to try and buy a car again today, and he actually bought one this time.
He will be picking it up on Friday.
Alex played with Elrich, Niki with Alexa in the afternoon, then after supper we went to a park and met with Ethan and Emma for a little bit too.


Daniellanak nagyon izlett a paprikas krumpi. Ki is nyalta a tanyerjat .

Daniella loved supper tonight, she cleaned out her plate.

Vacsora utan pedig fagyiztunk hatul a teraszon. Nagyon jo ido volt.

After supper we had ice cream in the backyard. The weather was really nice.

05.28.2007 Hetfo

A mai nap gyorsan telt, nekem vissza kellett menni dolgozni, az Alex es a Niki iskolaba mentek. Alexnak ma pont egy osztalykirandulasa volt igy nem kellett rogton tanulni.
Delutan a Daddy elment autot nezni, mi pedig a Nikinek a foci edzesere mentunk.
Tetszett neki nagyon. Az osztalyabol volt egy masik lany aki pont az o csapataban jatszik.
Ma volt a Niki baratnojenek, Sarah-nak az utolso napja az iskolaban. Niki nagyon szomoru, hogy a Sarah elkoltozik, eloszor Guatemalaba, majd a nyar vegen Peru-ba mennek.

Today was a very busy day, with me being back to work, Alex and Niki back to school. Alex had a class trip, so he didn't have to be in school yet.
In the afternoon Daddy went to look at another car, we went to Niki's soccer practice. She really enjoyed it. There's another girl from her class on the same team.
Today was Niki's friend, Sarah's last day at school. We knew this day was coming for a long time, they are moving far away, first to Guatemala, then to Peru in the fall. Niki is very sad to see her friend go.

05.27.2007 Vasarnap

Reggel mindenki koran kelt, az idoeltolodas miatt. Napkozben egesz nap pakoltuk ki a borondoket, en mostam, a gyerekek jatszottak.
Napkozben elszaladtunk megnezni ket autot. A Daddy akar uj autot venni, de nehez a dontes, hogy melyiket. Visszakaptuk a horcsogot is es Niki es Alex jatszottak Emmaval es Ethan-nal. Delutan pedig a Kati is eljott es visszahozta a halunkat.

Because of jetleg everyone was up early in the morning. We had doughnuts and Tim Horton's coffee.
I was unpacking luggages all day and did tons of laundry.
We went to look at two cars today, as Daddy wants to buy a new one but can't decide what kind. We got Niki's hamster back. Niki and Alex played with Ethan and Emma.
Kathy also came over in the evening returning our fish.

0526.2007 Szombat

Ma indulunk vissza Kanadaba. Reggel a Daniella meg gyorsan megnezte az email-jeit.

Today we're leaving to go back to Canada. Daniella checked her emails one last time.


Niki elkoszont az Emmatol. Emma mindenkit megpuszilt, meg a Daddy-t is, de csak ez az egy kep sikerult.

Reggel 11-kor indultunk Oroshazarol a repuloterre, jo meleg volt kb 30C.

We left for the airport around 11am. It was really hot, around 30C.

2 ora korul ertunk a repuloterre.
We got to the airport around 2pm.



Amikor a csomagokat leadtuk, gond volt a Daniella jegyevel. Az uj elelktronikus jegy miatt valamit nem jol csinaltak az utazasi irodaban. Amikor Torontot hagytuk el akkor is fel orat vacakoltak a jegyunkkel, most is legalabb addig tartott. De ekkorra mar ki volt irva, hogy a gep 4 ora helyett csak 5-kor indul, igy volt ido.

When we were checking in, there was a problem with Daniella's ticket. I think we had the same problem when we were leaving Toronto, because they spent more then half an hour just on our tickets. Our flight was already delayed from 4pm to 5pm so we had time.

Then we said our good byes.



A gep tovabbra is kesve indult, most mar 5:30-kor. Igy bementunk a jatszohazba. Osszetalalkoztunk egy ismerossel is akik Romaniabol jottek haza.

The flight now was delayed another half an hour to 5:30pm. We played in the kids play area for a while, where we met someone we knew, who was going home from Romania.


Mire kijottunk a jatszohazbol megtudtuk, hogy a geppel problemak vannak, igy masik geppel fogunk menni. Az viszont csak 8-kor fog indulni. 4 oras kesessel. Igy kaptunk "ebedjegyet" es elmentunk az etterembe enni. Hat 10,000 Ft nem sokra eleg, 4 szelet pizzat, 4 uditot es 4 jegkremet sikerult venni belole. Raadasul Magyarorszagon szabad dohanyozni (igaz csak a kijelolt helyeken). Minden masodik asztal dohanyzo asztal volt, igy fustben ettunk. Ez azert volt meglepo mert Kanadaban nem szabad csak kinn a szabadban vagy a sajat hazban dohanyozni. Etteremben, szorakozo helyen csak ha kimesz az utcara. Nincs dohaznyzo asztal.

By the time we came out from the play room, we learnt that there were problems with the plane and they're switching it to another one which will not take off until 8pm. That's a 4 hour delay.
We got some coupons to use at the restaurant and learnt that airport food is expensive. For about $70 CAD, we only got 4 slices of pizza, 4 drinks and 4 ice creams. I was also suprised to realize that in Hungary you can smoke indoors. Every other table was a smoking table at the restaurant. I forgot how annoying cigarette smoke is. In Canada you can't smoke indoors. There are no designated smoking tables or section in a restaurant, you have to go outside if you want to smoke.




Ez itt a gep amivel a vegen jottunk. Kissebb mint amivel eredetileg jottunk volna, igy kevesebb volt a hely a labunknal is. Es meg az ulesunket is megcsereltek es nemi konyorges utan sikerult hasonlo helyet kapni mint ami eredetileg a masik gepen volt.

Here's the plane that we ended up on. This is a smaller plane and there was less legroom then on the other plane. They also switched our seats around and had to complain and beg to get the same seats we originally had.


Szerencsere a Daniella az elso 3 ora utan vegigaludta az egesz utat (ami 9 1/2 ora volt).

Luckily we got Daniella to sleep after about 3 hours, so she slept the rest of the flight (which was 9 1/2 hours long).

4 oras kesessel ejjel 11:30 korul erkeztuk. A szomszedunk Richard jott ki elenk a repuloterre.
We landed at 11:30pm with a 4 hour delay. Our good neighbour, Richard came to pick us up.

05.25.2007 Pentek

Ma itt volt Ancsa Emmaval sokat, delutan pedig Tamas is eljott. Alex nagyon szereti amikor a Tamas eljon. Szeret vele beszelgeni, meg persze a Tamasnak nagyon meno telefonja is van.
Voltunk a konyvesboltban ahol a Mama vett egy par konyvet. Alex kapott egy Geronimo Stilton konyvet magyarul, a Niki egy olyan konyvet amiben reszletesen le van irva, hogy lehet rajzolni sok jo dolgot, es en is kaptam egy szakacskonyvet amiben magyaros etelek vannak, sok szines keppel. A Daniellanak pedig en vettem egy konyvet a TESCO-ban, mert amit en szerettem volna a belvarosi konyvesboltban nem volt. Ettunk fagyit is, utana pedig hintaztunk a Papaval. Este pedig elkezdtunk pakolni, de csak reggel lesz majd befejezve. Fenykepet most nem tudok feltolteni, mert mar el van csomagolva a kabel ahhoz, hogy feltoltsem a kepeket, de majd utolag.

Today Ancsa was here with Emma a lot. In the afternoon even Tamas came over again. Alex loves talking to Tamas his cousin, and he even has a really cool cell phone, that he lets Alex play games on. We went to the book store downtown, where Mama bought a few books. Alex got a Geronimo Stilton book in Hungarian, Niki got a book that gives step by step insturctions on how to draw things, and I got a Hungarian cookbook with lots of pictures. We ordered a book for Daniella too, but that one didn't come, so I bought it for her at TESCO. We went for ice cream again today, kids played at the playground with Papa. In the evening we had to start packing for going back to Canada tomorrow. I can't upload any pictures today, as all the cables for the camera already packed, but I will do so when we're back in Canada.

05.24.2007 Csutortok

Reggel kimentunk a piacra, most az Alex es a Niki is jott. A Daniella mindig bekereckedik az Emma babakocsijaba itt is o ul benne, az Emmat pedig az Ancsa cipelheti.

We went to the market again this morning, this time Alex and Niki came too. Daniella wants to sit in Emma's stroller all the time, so Ancsa had to pick up Emma.

Megneztuk a kiskacsakat es kiscsibeket. Niki nagyon szeretett volna egyett, es nagyon szomoru volt hogy nem vehettunk. De a repulore nem engedik fel oket, a Mamaeknal az emeletes hazban pedig nem lehet csirket nevelni.

We looked at little ducks and baby chicks. Niki really wanted to get a baby chick, and was so sad we couldn't buy one. Unfortunately they won't allow them on the airplane and Mama couldn't raise them in the apartment either.



Ebed utan elmentunk a Kossuth utcara, ahol karate bemutato es fuvoszenekari bemutato volt, valamilyen fogyatekos nap alkalmabol.

After lunch we went downtown where they had all kinds of stuff for people with disabilities. They had karate, dance, music.


Daniellat legjobban a szokokut vize erdekelte. Eleg meleg volt es o pancsolni akart. Ugy nezett ki hogy mindjart beleesik, de ugyes volt, csak addig huzta magat hogy a kezevel elerje a vizet.

Daniella was mostly busy playing in the fountain. It was really hot and she just wanted to play with the water. I was afraid she will fall in, it looked like she would, but she was very careful only to pull herself up far enough to reach the water with her hand.

Tamas, Alex unokatestvere kolcsonadta a biciklijet egy korre. Alex buszke volt, hogy ilyen nagy bicon is tud menni.

Alex's cousin, Tamas let him try his bike. Alex was so proud of himself that he can ride such a big bike.


Este pedig meg voltunk hivva a Bandiekhoz. Jot ettunk, a gyerekek pedig jatszottak. Ugy kifaradtak, hogy este nem volt gond az elalvassal.

We went to a friend's house for supper, for a BBQ. It was so good, and the kids played so much. They were so tired by the time we got home that there was no problem getting them to sleep.

Daniella ide egyedul fel tudott maszni hatul. Pedig jo magas ez a csuzda. Volt, hogy nem figyeltem oda es csak arra figyeltem fel, hogy mar a tetejen ul es kiabal hogy "Mommyyyy".

Daniella could climb up to this slide all by herself. I wasn't watching her for a minute and next thing I know, she is sitting up top, yelling "Mommyyyy".



Daniella ugral a trampoline-on. Gyorsan rajott, hogy hogy kell, elnezte a nagyoktol.

Daniella learnt how to jump on the trampoline really quick by watching the older kids.

05.23.2007 Szerda

Ma megint kimentunk a TESCO-ba. Jott a Mama, Papa, Ancsa, Emma is. Utkozben szedtunk pipacsot.

We walked to TESCO today again. Papa, Mama, Ancsa and Emma came too. On the way we picked some poppies on the side of the road.


Ez a kep a TESCO bejaratanal keszult. A bevasarlo kosarhoz csatolt kisautoban ult a Daniella. A biztonsagi or ram is szolt, hogy itt nem szabad fenykepezni es megkert, hogy toroljem ki a kepeket.

We went to get ice cream in the evening, and Daniella was learning to balance on the curb here.
Whatever the older kids do, she has to try too.

05.22.2007 Kedd

Ma nagyon meleg volt. 30 fok felett volt. Az Alex es a Niki kimentek a Daddy-vel es a Papaval a strandra. Mi pedig setaltunk egyett a varosban.

Today was very hot, over 30C. Alex and Niki went to the pools with Daddy and Papa. We just went for a walk and took some pictures.

Ide jartam iskolaba. Ez az 1.-es szamu Jozsef Attila Altalanos Iskola. Ide jartam elsobe, masodikba, utna harmadikba es negyedikbe mashova, de 5-tol 8-ig ismet ide. Tehat a 8 ev-bol 6-ot ide jartam. Nem tudom meg van-e meg a kisiskola ahova 3. es 4. osztalyba jartam.
Azt hiszem a Mama es az o anyukaja is jart ugyanebbe az iskolaba.

This is my elementary school. It's called Jozsef Attila Elementary School. I attended this school in Grade 1,2,5,6,7,8. In Grade 3 and 4 I went to a different school, I'll try and take a picture of that one too. My Mom and her Mom, my grandmother also went to this school for some time.


Imadom az oreg nagy fa kapukat. Sajnos egyre kevesebb van beloluk. Ebbe meg milyen sok munka ment bele mikor keszult. Ez nincs itt felujitva, de azert meg jo allapotu, a piac utcajan.

I love big old wooden doors like this. Unfortunately there are less and less of them. I love how much work went into making one of these. This one isn't renovated, but still in a pretty good shape.


Ez a kis trafik bolt a Kossuth utcan. A Mama azt mondta, ez mar akkor is itt volt amikor o kislany volt.

This is a little corner toy store on Kossuth Rd. My mom remembers this being here even when she was a little girl.

Az este eljott Attila, a Daddy unokatestvere a menyasszonyaval. Vele eloszor talalkoztunk.
Jo volt veluk kicsit beszelgetni. Attila mindig tud mindenkirol mindent a varosban. Nem is csoda, mert a postan dolgozik. Most is olyan neveket emlegetett, akiket tobb mint 15 eve nem is lattunk, mar el is felejtettem oket. A nevuk hallatan valalmire emlekszem, tudom, hogy akkoriban mindenki ismerte ezeket az embereket a varosban, ugymond "meno" emberek voltak. Viszont anelkul, hogy latnam oket, alig emlekszem rajuk. Nyilvan nem voltak olyan fontos emberek a szamomra. Ugy meselte, nagyon sokan Angliaban es Irorszagban dolgoznak.

Attila, Daddy's cousin came to visit us with his fiance. This was the first time we met her. It is always nice to talk to Attila, as he knows everything about everybody in the city. I guess him working at the post office helps. He talks about people that we knew 15-20 years ago. They used to be the "cool" guys back then, everybody knew them. I hardly remember them, would have to see their faces, but from their names I know I knew them. I guess they were not important enough people in my life. Attila said a lot of them work in England and Ireland now.

05.21.2007 Hetfo

Ma a Valterekhoz mentunk el latogatoba. A Valter anyukaja is latszik a hatterben az alabbi kepen. Orulunk, hogy minden evben vele is osszetalalkozunk.
Niki kijelentette, hogy mivel nincs lany naluk, igy o inkabb nem jon velunk. Pedig nagyon hianyoltak, es biztos jol erezte volna magat. O addig a Papaeknal maradt, jatszott es fagyizni is elmentek.

Today we went to visit our friend, Valter's family. Valter's Mom was there, we are happy to see her every year too.
Niki didn't want to go, because they don't have a daughter. They missed her, and she would have had a lot of fun playing. She stayed with Papa, and played and had ice cream.
